Rain Room, Sharjah

Rain room (located in Sharjah) - is an immersive experience of continuous
rainfall - but thanks to motion sensors you’ll stay dry.

After being showcased in leading museums in Los Angeles, Shanghai, New
York, and London, a permanent edition of Rain Room has now been opened by Sharjah Art Foundation, marking its Middle East debut.

Rain Room uses the spectacle of rainfall as an experiment in physical
AI by allowing people to see and even feel the extent of automation and control that already governs so much of their lives.

The installation uses 1200 liters of self-cleaning recycled water. The
falling water goes straight through the floor, which has small spaces in it; gets taken back up, and rains down again.

Rain Room is at the Sharjah Art Foundation, in the Heart of Sharjah. Visits
can be booked in advance or purchased at the door and are Dh25 for adults, Dh15 for teachers and students up to the age of 22, and free for children under five.Saturday–Thursday: 9am to 9pm, Friday: 4pm to 11pm
