Julia Govor was born in 85 in USSR Abhazia, grow up and became a DJ at Kuban. 2007 she moved to Moscow and 2013 she based in NYC.
Julia Govor is a parade of talent and charisma born to move people. She started out mixing music live using multiple cassette tape decks in the south of Russia. Govor's special resonant frequencies and bizarre melodies have caught the attention of labels such as VisionQuest and Get Physical resulting in recent releases on both labels. Julia is a resident of legendary Moscow underground club "Arma 17" and Berlin’s "Katerholzig".
Julia has to play... Hmm, easy to say where Govor hasn't play yet. She Played for Kazantip and WMC, for Movement and Ferma, WMCS and ADE. In Vladivostok and Kazahstan, Tokio and Washington DC, Marrakesh and a little towns like a Pyatigors which is hiding in Mounts of Elbrus close by Chechnya.
For the past five years she has traveled the world interviewing the worlds most critically acclaimed musicians,producers and Dj's. Like Iggi Pop, Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawting,Dubfire, Carl Cox, Ferry Corster and more. Julia also produced and hosted her own successful tv shows GovorNonstop and MillerTV Russia about the best festivals and electronic producers and DJ’s from around the world.
Her new radio show “Byeond the booth with Julia Govor" can be heard on Pulse Radio. She asks all the questions that you are not suppose to ask international Musicians and DJ’s.
Govor has a lead role in a critically acclaimed art house film "Shapito Show" winning awards as the face of a new wave of Russian cinema.
Julia is currently producing and performing LIVE with her new collaborative project ”Synchronized Swimming”, along with volunteering
She has very little patience for most things except one, moving bodies on the dance floor.
